He initiated numerous programs for children's education and development and established major educational institutions such as and to empower the nations youth to become strong and educated. On Childrens Day numerous events are held in schools, colleges and other institutions. These events include speeches essay writing, painting, dance song, sports competitions and cultural programs. Teachers and parents encourage children and teach them how to serve the country by becoming good citizens. Children are also given sweets gifts, and prizes on this day bringing smiles to their faces.
