Are you passing up some important sales that might be yours simply for the asking y not taking care of your sales inquiries the way that you should? We should to think that every one of our dealers can and does recognize the importance of the letters of inquiry that come to our offices and which are forwarded to you as we receive them. But from he reports we have been getting from our men who are selling in the field and from the letters we receive from some of our customers, we are afraid some inquiry are being neglected.
 
Handling the thousands of inquiries that we receive each week requires the use of a large number of people right here in our office. We know that the expense of maintaining this staff is fully justified if every inquiry is followed up as soon as it is received by a dealer and if a strong eff- ort is made to make a sale to every prospect who has been interested enough in our products to write to us asking about them.
We plan to continue our present method of handling these inquiries only if there is evidence that soliciting inquiries and having you follow them up really does help you sell more goods. We should like to analyze the way the method is working out, so we ask you to send us a report of your interview with each prospect whose inquiry we send you, whether or not the prospect is led to make a purchase. It is particularly important right now, for we are approaching the season of low sales, and our sales must go up to a much higher level. I want you to know how really pleased I was have you ask me to give another book.
