Celebrated every year on June 5 reminds us of our collective and individual responsibilities towards our Earth our environment. It is not just a one-day celebration, but it is a pledge that we will make continuous efforts to keep our planet healthy and green. This day inspires people around the world to think about environmental issues and find solutions to them, so that together we can build a better and sustainable future. Today as we celebrate Environment Day we need to think about what we are taking from nature and what we are giving in return. Our environment which includes air water soil, flora and fauna is the basis of our lives. But due to human activities it is facing serious threats pollution deforestation, climate change and loss of biodiversity We need to act immediately and collectively to face these challenges and in this direction 'World Environment Day provides us an important platform.
World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5 June. This day is set by the United Nations to promote environmental protection and awareness. Its main purpose is to educate people about environmental issues such as pollution, global warming, deforestation and biodiversity loss and motivate them to find solutions to these problems. It reminds us that the Earth is our only home and it is the collective responsibility of all of us to keep it safe Our environment is everything that surrounds us – air, water, soil, plants and all living creatures. It is the basis of our life, providing us with pure air to breathe, water to drink and fertile soil to grow food. Nature gives us all the resources necessary for life. However, our environment is facing serious threats today due to modern lifestyle and uncontrolled human activities.
Air pollution is increasing in cities due to smoke emitted from vehicles and industries, making it difficult to breathe. Water pollution is contaminating rivers and oceans, making the problem of drinking water serious. Deforestation which is happening in the name of development, has not only caused loss of biodiversity but has also led to climate change and global warming .
