Phu Quoc, recently ranked the world's second most beautiful island, welcomed 74.833 foreign tourists during the nine-day Tet holiday, marking a 30.2% increase from last year. Foreign visitors made up nearly 40% of total arrivals, with the island receiving 281.000 visitors overall up 27% year on year, according to Kien Giang province's department of tourism. Data from Mustgo showed that 90% of accommodations were fully booked, particularly in 4 star and 5 star hotels. Phu Quoc international airport handled over 1000 flights, including many international arrivals from Taiwan, South Korea, mainland China, Kazakhstan, Poland, Mongolia, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. The island was ranked second in Travel + Leisure's list of the world's most beautiful islands last year, following the Maldives.
