The brief prosecution story is that, the informant Smt. Neha Tiwari appeared at the Kotwali police station, District Benam on 03.06.2016 and informed that she lives with her father-in-law Rajkumar and mother-in-law Gayatri Tiwari in her in-laws' house in Forest Quarter. She was married on 8 July 2008 to Lalit of Lapataganj town as per social customs. Her husband is posted as a constable. One of her daughters is studying in a school in Bhopal. She is staying in Bhopal and teaching her daughter Ruchi Tiwari. She came to her in-laws' house in District Benam on 15 May 2016 during summer vacation and is staying there. On 24 May 2016, her husband also came to District Benam on leave. Her husband Lalit and she had withdrawn twenty lakh rupees from State Bank of India for home loan. Out of twenty lakhs, her husband had given two lakh rupees to her father-in-law. The money which her husband had given to her father-in-law, her mother-in-law and father-in-law are not returning that money and neither is her husband asking for the money back from them. Her husband Lalit and brother-in-law Anil and mother-in-law and father-in-law ask her mother to bring two lakh rupees. Two years ago also her husband Lalit had taken two lakh rupees from her mother in the name of buying a plot, which has not been returned yet, so her mother refused to give two lakh rupees again. On 02.06.2016 her husband sold her jewellery, there was a quarrel over this matter, so she went to her maternal home. When her husband called her on phone and asked her to come to the newly constructed house, her husband Lalit and her brother-in-law Anil Tiwari abused her and beat her with hands and fists and were trying to throw her off the roof. While descending the stairs, while escaping from the stairs (4), on the basis of the complainant's pointing, the spot map of the incident was prepared Exhibit P4. The complainant and other witnesses were questioned and their statements were recorded and the marriage card and photocopy of marriage registration certificate.
