Sivashankari is set to receive a cash prize of 5 lakh, a memento, and a shawl. The award will be presented to her on July 29, during the 93rd birth anniversary celebrations of Dr. C. Narayana Reddy at Ravindra Bharati in Hyderabad. The Chief Minister of the region, A. Revanth Reddy, will attend the ceremony as the chief guest. Other notable guests include Minister for Culture Jupalli Krishna Rao and Government Whip Adi Srinivas. The event will also see the release of Dr. C. He wrote 36 novels, 48 mini-novels (navalikas), 150 short stories, 15 travelogues, seven collections of essays, four study papers, and two biographies. Her large body of work is mostly about social problems and human values. In addition to the upcoming award, Sivashankari has already been honored with the Saraswati Samman, which is one of India’s highest literary awards and shows how much she has meant to Indian writing over the years. The Labour Party won a huge majority in the recent government elections, which means that Keir Starmer will be the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. The Conservative Party was thrown out, and Labour won 410 of the 650 seats. This was a big improvement from the previous election when they did very poorly. Rishi Sunak’s Concession Rishi Sunak, who was Prime Minister at the time, formally conceded defeat on Friday, making way for Keir Starmer to take over. This is a major change in the UK’s political scene; Labour now controls the government after a long time of Conservative rule. Keir Starmer was well-known in the areas of human rights and public service before he became a politician. He tried to make sure that Northern Ireland’s police respected human rights. From 2008 to 2013, he was the Director of Public Prosecutions. Notably, he worked on cases that got a lot of attention, like the prosecution of MPs and the media. Even though he was knighted in 2013, he doesn’t use the term “Sir” very often. When Starmer got back into politics, he was elected as a Member of Parliament in 2015, serving a North London district that leans to the left. He was chosen as the leader of the Labour Party in 2020, after Labour’s poor performance in the 2019 general election. He has led Labour to a comeback by taking advantage of the problems the Conservative government is having with the economy and politics.
