It is common that people nowadays sleep less than they used to in the past. This tendency is the result of several factors, which could lead to many negative impacts.
There are several factors bringing about this tendency in today’s society.  
Firstly, the rise of digital technology has greatly influenced sleep patterns. The blue light emitted by screens from smartphones, tablets, and computers interferes with the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone, thus delaying sleep. Secondly, increased work demands and longer working hours have also contributed to less sleep. Many people find themselves working late into the night to meet deadlines or manage multiple jobs, reducing the time available for rest.
Additionally, there are several problems and consequences resulting from this practice. One major issue is the detrimental effect on physical health. Chronic sleep deprivation has been linked to a host of health problems, including obesity, cardiovascular diseases, and weakened immune function. Another significant consequence is the impact on mental health and cognitive function. Lack of sleep can lead to increased stress, anxiety, and depression, as well as impairing memory and decision-making abilities.
As mentioned above, there are several factors causing people to sleep less, and this could lead to several problems related to both physical and mental health. It is crucial to address these issues to improve overall well-being.
