Laughter is a way of showing happiness. We laugh only when we are really happy. Everyone loves to laugh. That is why funny films or comedies are so popular. Is there any one, who does not enjoy jokes or anecdotes that make her/him laugh? There is hardly anyone who does not like to laugh. Laughter acts like a health tonic for our body and mind. It refreshes and relaxes us. It lightens our minds by removing stress and strain. It lessens our worry and makes us feel light. When our mind is free from all sorts of worries and tensions, we enjoy good mental health. And good mental health contributes a lot to good physical health. That is why laughter is known as ‘the best medicine’One of the well known advantages of laughter is that is helps us forget our sorrow and anger. Suppose, we are in an angry mood and somebody tries to lighten the atmosphere by cracking a joke, we feel light. Humour and laughter which comes as part of a joke are bound to have some effect on us. We stop sulking and find ourselves laughing. After a good laugh, nobody can continue to be angry. Laughter makes a person forget his anger. It does the same to sorrow as well.Shared laughter is one of the most effective tools for keeping relationships fresh and exciting.
