The city of Rajastan is a place of many wonders, including Hawa Mahal. The combination of it's architecture, history and facts will leave you in awe. It is one of the iconic landmarks of Jaipur, and is famed for its pink latticed balconies and windows that offer breathtaking views of the cities. Hawa Mahal is also know as the Palace of the Winds and is one of the finest examples of architecture in the country. It was built in 1799 by the Kachwaha ruler of Jaipur Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh as an extension to the Royal City Palace. It was designed in the shape of Lord Krishna's crown by Lal Chand Ustad. There are 953 small windows that are further complemented with intricate designs, also known as jharokhas.
