Basant Panchami symbolizes the farewell of winter and welcome of spring. The fragrance in the air, the new leaves on the trees, the shade of yellow all around  everything fascinates the mind. Mother Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge is worshiped on this day. In schools students wear yellow clothes and offer flowers to Mother Saraswati and wish to attain education. Flying kites, eating sweets making rangoli all these are colorful rituals of this festival. Basant Panchami is a festival of hope and joy which inspires us to make a new beginning in life.  
When the harsh winter starts subsiding and flowers start blooming, then comes the happy festival of Basant Panchami. Turmeric yellow sunlight, fragrance flowing in the air, and chirping of birds as if nature is making its colorful painting. Mother Saraswati the goddess of knowledge and art is worshiped on this day. Students wear yellow clothes and worship books and veena, wishing to attain knowledge. Flying kites making rangoli preparing yellow food  all these add to the color of the festival. Basant Panchami gives us an opportunity to connect with nature and understand the importance of knowledge.
Removing the blanket of winter spring puts on its light green clothes, as if nature is starting a new year. The festival of Basant Panchami celebrates this happiness. A yellow blanket is spread on the ground mango trees blossom and fragrance mingles in the air. Mother Saraswati the goddess of knowledge is worshiped on this day. In schools students wear yellow clothes and offer Veena and book to Mother Saraswati with the desire of attaining education in their mind. Flying kites eating yellow sweets, making rangoli all these are colorful celebrations of this festival. Basant Panchami not only shows us the beauty of nature but also teaches us to make a new beginning in life. Just like trees shed their leaves in winter and grow new leaves in spring, we too should give up old habits and try to learn new things. Let us celebrate this Basant Panchami in harmony with nature and brighten your life with the light of knowledge.
