The father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is the makes of Independent Bangladesh. He is recognized as the great Bengali of the past thousands of years. We owe his charismatic leadership for making us a great nation. The great man was born on 17th March 1920 Tungipara in Gopalganj. He completed his study in 1947 at the Kolkata Islamic College. Afterwards, he joined politics and did his best for the Bengali nation to make them free from the oppression of the Pak rulers. For that, he was arrested and tortured by Pakistani rulers several times. After so many struggle and movements the East Pakistan Government were compelled to take decision for having an election in 1970. Awami League got the highest vote in that election from public. Bangabandhu was the man who won the heart of all Bengali people. But Pakistani rulers had been denying to hand over the rule. After that Bangabandhu addressed a meeting his history address on the 7th March 1971 at a mammoth gathering at the Race-course marked a turning point for the Bengali nation. His speech had become a subject of fear to the Pak rulers. As a result, he was arrested on 25th March 1971. And was taken to Pakistan. After the 9th month of our liberation war, we got our independence on 16th December 1971. He was sent back home after liberation. He was the prime minister and sometimes president of Bangladesh but unfortunately, he was assassinated by some misguided Army officers on 15th August 1971, along with most of his family members except for his two daughters. It is considered a great loss for the nation. He was engraved at Tungipara.
