Meera Bai was a medieval Hindu spiritual poet and Krishna devotee. She was one of the most popular bhakti-saints of the Bhakti movement. His hymns dedicated to Lord Krishna are still very popular in North India and are sung with reverence. Meera was born in a royal family of Rajasthan. There are many mythological stories and legends about Meera Bai's life. All these legends tell stories of Meerabai's bravery and show her Krishna love and devotion. Through them, it is also learned how Meerabai bravely fought the social and family rituals and became engrossed in her devotion by considering Krishna as her husband. His in-laws favor did not consider his Krishna devotion to be a royal family and persecuted him from time to time. In the Indian tradition, thousands of devotional poems written in praise of Lord Krishna are associated with Meera, but scholars believe that some of these poems were composed by Meera and the rest of the poems seem to have been composed in the 18th century. Many such poems, which are believed to have been composed by Meerabai, seem to have been written by her admirers. These poems are called Bhajans and are very popular in North India.

There are no reliable historical documents related to Meerabai's life. Scholars have tried to shed light on Meerabai's life from literature and other sources. According to these documents, Meera was born in Merta, Rajasthan in 1498 in a royal family. His father Ratan Singh Rathod was the ruler of a small Rajput princely state. She was the only child of her parents and her mother died when she was a small child. He was taught subjects like music, religion, politics and administration. Meera was brought up under the care of her grandfather, who was a serious worshiper of Lord Vishnu and was a warrior as well as a devotee-heart and the visit of saints and saints was always present here. In this way, Meera kept coming in contact with the saints and religious people since childhood. Meera was married in 1516 to Rana Sanga's son Bhoj Raj, the prince of Mewar. Her husband Bhoj Raj was wounded in 1518 in a conflict with the rulers of Delhi Sultanate and due to this she died in 1521. Within a few years of her husband's death, her father and father-in-law were also killed in a battle with Babur, the founder of the Mughal Empire. It is said that according to the prevalent practice of the time, after the death of the husband, Meera was tried to sati with her husband, but she was not prepared for it and gradually she became disenchanted with the world and the saints and saints. She started spending her time in the company of Kirtan. After the death of her husband, her devotion increased day by day. Meera often went to temples and danced in front of Krishna's devotees in front of Krishna's idol. Meerabai's Krishnabhakti and thus dancing and singing did not suit her husband's family.
