You will become as small as your controlling desire or as great as your dominant aspiration. We have all been to the circus to see acrobatic performance by well trained performers. It is amazing how average human beings can direct a small herd of elephants that weigh several tons obey movements which amaze the audience. The elephants when they are babies are tied to a tree by a piece of rope. At the baby stage the strength of these baby elephants are limited. They struggle for some time and give-up after sometime. Once they are conditioned they never try to break free. Psychologists refer to this performance as "Learned helplessness". There is research that support the theory that the mind cannot differentiate between a real and imagined experience. Control is a matter of perception. There are things over which we have control and we think we don’t! Often we think that we are controlled by people or circumstances. In fact, other people control us only if we give our permission. The issue is "Who is in control of your life?"  In reality, it is ourselves. Mediocre people sometimes achieve outstanding success because they don't know when to quit. Men usually succeed when they are determined and firm when the belief in failure is greater than the belief in success. Happiness and success are not accidents of birth nor are they lucky occurrences. They are the result of committing to and following through on the things we need to do. Never give-up, just persist and learn from your mistakes. People don't fail because they are unlucky but fail because they quit. Defeat is never final until you quit. Many of life's failures are people who did not realise how close they were to success when they gave-up.
