According to Wing Chun great master Ip Man, Wing Chun comes from a woman called Ng Mui, a Buddhist nun from Southern Shaolin Temple in Qing Dynasty. At the time, a girl called Yim Wing-chun is forced to marry to a local tyrant in Guangdong. Luckily, Ng Mui meets her and teaches her Kung Fu. After that, Yim Wing-chun beat the bully and married her husband who is Leung Bac-Chou. Then Leung Bac-Chou taught to Leung Kwai-lan. Leung Kwai-lan taught Wong Wa-bo. Wong Wa-bo exchanged Wing Chun for six and a half point pole from Leung Yi-tai, a student of Shalin monk. Wong and Leung studied martial art together and then combined all their skills and experience. Subsequently, Leung Yi-tai taught a famous Foshan Chinese doctor Leung Jan. Actually, Ip Man’s master Chan Wa-shun is the student of Leung Jan. Until 1950, Ip Man came to Hong Kong and also brings Wing Chun to here.
