I think the way I'm typing in Korean is the most common input method for this country. This can easily be verified over the internet. And I type Japanese like in the video that you found. I think it's the most common input method too.

But counting the number of keystrokes in Japanese is a little more complicated than in Korean. Because in Korean you simply type the right keys in succession to form each character of a word and then type space (only once) to move to the next word. While in Japanese you have to type the right characters of the word, then choose the right form with space, then confirm with the enter key, and finally type again the enter key to go to the next word. So most of the time you need 3 keystrokes just to move from word to word.

And that's not all: some words appear directly with their good form, so you don't need to press space for them. Also, if you use Firefox, typing the enter key will both confirm and move to the next word at the same time, so you need to type it only once (instead of 2 on Chrome or Opera).

So in the end, the number of keystrokes to go to the next word can vary (depending on the word and your browser) between 1 and 3 or more keystrokes (also because sometimes you have to press more than once on space to get the right form of the word, although once is usually sufficient).
