How much speed can I gain if I fix my technique?
Re: How much speed can I gain if I fix my technique?
Hello and welcome to this forum,
How much should you gain with a better technique? Nobody can say. There are too many parameters to take into account.
But it's obvious that you can make significant progress in speed. It all depends on what you will change in your habits. However, this requires a strong motivation because it might be very long and laborious.
If I'm not mistaken, you type with 4 fingers. 100 WPM is a speed that can be reached with only 3 fingers. One thing is for sure, if you were using your thumb on the space bar (to release your index which loses a lot of time because of all the movement it has to do), very quickly you could gain at least 10 to 20 WPM. It would be nice as a beginning.
